Inspiration of the Week - Peacock

The peacock palette is for the bride who adores rich vibrant colors. She is fashion forward and isn't afraid to take a few risks. This palette is classic meets modern, but far from traditional. The perfect color accents for a fall wedding.

I made this one... you likey?

First Cake Tasting

So according to my wedding checklist on the Knot, it's time for me to make arrangements for our wedding cake. Today we have our first tasting with Classic Bakery. They have over 40 different cake flavors to choose from. These are the flavors I'm hoping to try today...

~ Mocha cake with White Chocolate Mousse filling

~ Butter Rum cake with Hazelnut filling

~ Almond cake with Raspberry Custard filling

~ Vanilla cake with Strawberry Preserve filling

I'm anxious to sit down with them and see if they can make my dream cake a reality. I have done a lot of research on cakes, it probably ranks third in importance after my dress and the flowers. So wish me luck!

Costa Rica Recap

Let me start off this recap by saying, please forgive my Spanglish. I got to practice my Spanish a lot in Costa Rica and it's still kind of with me. We had a fantastic time. It was probably the best vacation I have ever had, and I have never been anywhere more beautiful.
We were greeted by this view after we landed in San Jose
FH is from Costa Rica, he was born there but he had not been back in 14 years. Our trip was a homecoming for him and we also celebrated his Abuela's {Grandmothers} 80th birthday. The best part about staying with familia is that they feed you. Que Rico! We ate all the time. I know I gained at least 5 lbs.

FH's Abuela lives in San Jose which is the capital of Costa Rica. His Tio {Uncle} lives in Puerto Viejo which is the most beautiful place I have ever been. Every morning we woke up to the sound of the waves crashing on the beach and monkeys in the trees. His Tio owns a bakery there so we always had fresh bread and coffee every morning. Ahhh it was heavenly.

We stopped by this fruit stand on our way to the beach. His Tio's wife made the most delicious fruit juice from papaya, pineapple, and watermelon.

By far the most fun that I had on our trip was the canopy tour. It was insane! We hiked for what seemed like forever to about 20 different platforms in the jungle. It was amazing, we were so close to all kinds of wildlife. It was my idea to go but once we got to the top of the mountain I was more then a little nervous. But after the first zip line I couldn't wait for the next one because it was so much fun.

So that was it, 10 days of fun, family, and food. What more could you ask for?

We're Back

Hi There! We are back from our vacay in Costa Rica and I am more then a little jet lagged {we had a five hour lay over in Miami}. I'm back to work today and draggin' major behind. I have close to 300 pics to sort through... yes I went a little snap happy. As soon as I do, I will recap all the fun we had.

We're Off to Costa Rica!

So tomorrow Future Hubby and I are off to Costa Rica. I have been waiting for this vacation for about three months now, and it's finally here! There is so much to see, and so much to do in the 10 days that we will be there, I'm sure that it will leave my head spinning.

I won't be blogging while on vacay but I will be laying on the beach sipping coconut milk and reading bridal magazines. I'll be sure to take lots of pics and fill you all in on our adventures when I get back.

Hasta luego!

Photographs I Love

One of my favorite things while wondering around in the blogosphere, is when I stumble upon truly gorgeous photographs like these. Photos that make you just stop and stare and examine every detail. Photos that make you feel like you are there... that tell a story. While enjoying the finished product we often don't realize what went into composing these images. It's made to look so easy. I have worked with several different photographers, and believe me it is not easy. Sometimes it is raw talent, and with others it is years and years of studying their craft. The reward is something truly magical.

Designer Spotlight - Le Fleur by Anne Barge

How can I describe Anne Barge's bridal designs? Hmmm... captivating , alluring, breathtaking. Any of those adjectives could describe these creations that have utterly captured my heart. They seem more like a piece of delicate and beautiful art rather then a garment to be worn. Without a doubt, it must be the exceptional execution in the working of these designs that keep me so mesmerized. But where did this maven of the bridal world emerge from? Well...

In 1981 Anne Barge opened her first bridal salon Anne Barge for Brides. She then established her brand in 1999, featuring three distinct lines Black Label, Couture and La Fleur. She got her start in the fashion world working as an apprentice with Priscilla of Boston. As an avid art history and costume history student, Barge’s designs seem to be influence by her research and are largely inspired by vintage couture. Referencing timeless fashion from the 1700s and 1800s.

Barge recently opened a new retail store, Anne Barge Bridal Atelier, in February 2007 based in Atlanta, in the heart of the the cities Buckhead district. This location is one of the first to feature Badgley Mischka Bridal. Their partnership with Badgley Mischka was announced in their summer of 2006
